Welcome to Legal Me Quick ("LMQ"), a platform dedicated to providing accessible legal information and connecting users with qualified legal practitioners at affordable rates. These Terms and Conditions outline the relationship between you, the user, and LMQ. By using the platform and ticking the acceptance box, you agree to comply with these Terms and Conditions, as well as the LMQ Practitioner Mandate. While we strive to provide reliable and up-to-date legal support, some features may still be under development, and you may experience occasional glitches. Our goal is to help individuals gain access to justice and understand their legal positions, even if they lack the means to afford traditional legal services.

1. DEFINITIONS

1.1. "LMQ": Refers to the Legal Me Quick service, including the website, mobile app, and related services.

1.2. "User" or "You": Refers to any person using the LMQ platform.

1.3. "Practitioner": Refers to any qualified legal professional on the LMQ Panel who offers legal services.

1.4. "Services": Refers to any information, bookings for consultations, or referrals offered through LMQ.

1.5. "Booking": Refers to a booking for a 15-minute legal consultation session with a Practitioner provided via the platform.

2. NATURE OF SERVICE

2.1. LMQ provides access to general legal information and offers a legal triage service to connect users with legal practitioners. The information provided by LMQ, including its AI-driven service, should not be considered professional legal advice.

2.2. The AI system helps explain basic legal concepts, but a consultation with a qualified legal practitioner is essential for tailored legal advice and action.

2.3. LMQ makes every effort to ensure the information provided is accurate; however, we cannot guarantee that the information will always be correct, up-to-date, or comprehensive.

3. USER RESPONSIBILITIES

3.1. By using LMQ, you agree to:

4. CONSULTATIONS AND PRACTITIONER SERVICES

4.1. The LMQ platform offers users the option to book consultations with a Practitioner, subject to availability. The booking fee is R350.00 per 15-minutes.

4.2. Upon confirming payment for a 15-minute booking, LMQ will arrange and pay for the Practitioner to provide a 15-minute consultation valued at R300.00 as part of the service.

4.3. Users may also choose to book extended consultations, including a 30-minute booking for R700.00, where LMQ will arrange and pay for the Practitioner to provide a consultation valued at R600.00, or a 60-minute booking for R1,400.00, where the consultation is valued at R1,200.00.

4.4. Practitioners on the LMQ platform operate independently of LMQ, and LMQ is not responsible for the quality, accuracy, or content of the legal advice provided.

4.5. LMQ serves as an intermediary, facilitating the booking and connecting users with legal professionals. Any follow-up consultations or additional legal services will be subject to separate arrangements between the user and the Practitioner.

5. PLATFORM AND ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES FEE

5.1. As part of each booking made through the LMQ platform, a portion of the booking fee is allocated to cover platform maintenance and administrative services. For a 15-minute booking, R50.00 of the R350.00 fee is used by LMQ to ensure the continued operation of the platform and to provide essential administrative services, such as FICA verification and secure data handling for Practitioners. This ensures that Practitioners can focus on delivering legal consultations, while LMQ manages the necessary compliance and platform-related tasks.

6. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

6.1. LMQ makes no guarantees regarding the accuracy or completeness of the legal information provided by its AI or Practitioners.

6.2. LMQ will not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform or any services obtained through the platform.

6.3. LMQ disclaims any liability for delays, interruptions, or technical errors that may disrupt access to the platform or any consultations. You acknowledge that technical challenges or service outages may occasionally occur.

7. INDEMNITY

7.1. You agree to indemnify and hold LMQ, its directors, employees, agents, and affiliates harmless from any claims, damages, losses, or liabilities arising out of:

8. DATA PROTECTION AND PRIVACY

8.1. LMQ is committed to protecting your personal information under POPIA and only processes data necessary for the provision of services. Your information is used to facilitate consultations and deliver legal support.

8.2. Personal data is stored securely, and access is limited to authorised personnel or Practitioners as required to deliver services.

9. PAYMENTS AND FEES

9.1. The platform offers access to basic legal information in the form of one MVP token per user per day for free, while additional services such as consultations and MVP tokens are available at a fee.

9.2. MVP Tokens can be purchased for R5.00 each, and bookings for consultations are available as follows:

9.2.1. R350.00 for a 15-minute booking (with LMQ arranging for a consultation valued at R300.00);

9.2.2. R700.00 for a 30-minute booking (with LMQ arranging for a consultation valued at R600.00);

9.2.3. R1,400.00 for a 60-minute booking (with LMQ arranging for a consultation valued at R1,200.00).

9.3. Payment must be made via the platform's secure online payment methods. A booking will only be confirmed once the full payment is received.

9.4. LMQ is not responsible for any external transaction fees, payment gateway issues, or unauthorized access to your payment information.

10. CANCELLATIONS, REFUNDS, AND RESCHEDULING

10.1. You may cancel or reschedule a booking up to 24 hours before the scheduled time to avoid being charged.

10.2. Refunds will only be issued for bookings cancelled in line with this policy, provided no consultation has taken place.

10.3. No refunds will be provided for completed consultations, and unused MVP tokens are non-refundable.

10.4. In the event of technical disruptions on our platform, we will reschedule the booking or refund the unused MVP tokens or booking fee.

11. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

11.1. All content available on the LMQ platform, including text, software, graphics, and data, is the intellectual property of LMQ or its licensors.

11.2. Users are granted limited, non-exclusive access to use the platform for its intended purpose. You may not modify, reproduce, distribute, or reverse-engineer any part of the platform without LMQ’s prior written consent.

12. NO WARRANTY

12.1. LMQ provides the platform "as is" without any warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, regarding the functionality, availability, or reliability of the platform.

12.2. The information provided via LMQ’s AI service or Practitioners may not be suitable for your specific circumstances, and no warranty is given as to the accuracy or completeness of such information.

13. FORCE MAJEURE

13.1. LMQ will not be liable for any failure to provide services due to unforeseen circumstances beyond our reasonable control, such as natural disasters, war, strikes, or technical failures. In such cases, we will endeavour to restore services as soon as possible.

14. NON-COMPETE AND NON-SOLICITATION

14.1. Practitioners and users are prohibited from engaging with each other outside of the LMQ platform for legal services without LMQ’s prior written consent.

14.2. Practitioners may not solicit business from LMQ users outside of the platform.

14.3. CHANGES TO TERMS AND CONDITIONS

14.4. LMQ reserves the right to update or modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Any changes will be effective immediately upon posting on the platform. Continued use of the platform after any changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

15. GOVERNING LAW AND DISPUTE RESOLUTION

15.1. These Terms and Conditions are governed by South African law. In the event of any dispute, you agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the South African courts.

16. COMPLAINTS AND DISPUTE RESOLUTION
